Battlefield Heroes community manager, Per Bonomi, posted an update regarding the Battlefield Heroes Beta.

" Hello Heroes!

As you may have noticed, you killed our website. We are not angry. We’re very pleased you want to be in the Beta.

The beta for Heroes will be divided into several stages, the first of which is all about testing out this new way of getting games to you all; by downloading and installing them from a website. We’ll also be trying out some other dull stuff to do with servers, so we are expecting the systems to be down as much as they are up.

To help us track down all the technical issues, we have asked a third party to find us some specialist Beta testers. We are doing all this because we want to be sure that when we launch Heroes, everything will work smoothly.

So hang in there! We will announce here when it’s time to sign up for the public stage of the Beta.

Here is a news announcement that we were getting ready to post as well:

With all the excitement going around about the Battlefield Heroes beta, we thought that we would clear some things up.

First off, read this word for word:

Hello Heroes!

This communique is being transmitted to inform you that Battlefield Heroes will be running a closed beta starting May 6th. The first phases of the beta will be by invitation only, but we'll be giving out more information about where to sign up in the coming weeks. - Battlefield Heroes Team

This information was gathered from this image posted on the official Battlefield Heroes site.

According to the message above...right now, you can only get the beta from invitation only. Shortly after this, there should be a place to go nuts and sign up like crazy to get in to what we think will be a public beta.

At this time, this is all we know but it is still early in the day. When we do find out more, you will be the first to know!

Keep your eyes glued here.

If all people killed their website then the server of dice is weaker then I thought. o.o It doesnt even have a forum or character stats yet.

think it is just a little server they run the website on now, as there is no reason to use a big server

WHAT!!? Oh yeah lol...so...um..*clears throat*. Let me get this right.

The beta started just today on May 6th. The first phase consists of professional testers? Right?

Ack! Oh well...lol I guess everyone was too excited where everyone 'misinterpreted' the news...

So...what's second phase going to consists of? Any predictions? I think it will be everyone in the community.

Second phase will most likely be a "Open" or "Public" beta. They might however choose to keep the beta closed but invite more and more people in as time continues. After that they will have enough testing done to release a stable release version which everyone will be able to download and play.

For most games there is an "Open Beta' which all users gets to take part in. It is the stage where the devs. get to stress test their servers.

Actually i believe the beta is sign up, which means youll need to sign up and apply, so chances are you wont get in, the third phase is most likely open beta, anyone can enter and play

Yes if they keep the beta closed you will have to sign up and get picked (most likely at random).

wat you need to udnerstant is that places like google and ebay have extremely expensive servers to keep them going! They can handle it while it looks like BFH wasnt expecting so many people and they only had a cheap server just for updates, although i assume they will buy bigger ones for the game and main website! All they had was a cheap weak server to save cash

actually they were not on a weak server they were using the digital illusions net one were they are in Stockholm wordpress is just really bad lolz

they r gettin specialized beta testers...ppl that no how 2 do it all properly, instead of just shootin each other constantly...its sort of expected cause i donno how productive it would b if they got just randoms...it would b btr 2 get ppl that have done it b4, and rnt gonna go crazy like us lolz

Well... I didn't get paid for finding Bugs in a game, but in most Beta Testings of the games I've played, I found a lot of bugs. I don't know if they're so different than us, maybe they have some programming knowledge, I don't know.

they dont have 2 b paid, but i think specialized ones r diff 2 us cause they prob no wat they lookin 4? say if bfh had a particular type of problem wif some aspects of physics, they would get certain ppl in? thats just an example but i def.think its btr for us cause they game would b released publicly faster cause they got da best ppl for da job...i highly believe that if they accepted a lot of ppl randomly, ppl would just play around and not bother, and it would take longer 2 get all da bugs outa da system...

just my thoughts neways...we dont have 2 w8 that long neways!

Let the 3rd party players test it for awhile and I'm sure we'll get our hands on very soon. Because I don't think players( we, the mad ones xD) would report all the bugs and stuff, we would notice a bug, but we wouldn't care so much, coz we just WANT to play. Some guys have exams coming up, some part of me is actually happy, because it would ruin my studies
